Yes we made it!! It was so exciting (and hard) but we were both so proud. I can’t thank you enough. I felt like you prepared  me so well for the trip which made our success. We had all the right clothes and layers. I felt my expectations were right on with all the information you had given me. The two ladies we met up were perfect companions too. It was really an amazing experience and top quality. I always felt safe. It was the perfect Mom and daughter experience and truly a life time experience!!!! - Jill R.

It was very challenging, but I cried with happiness when I reached the top.  Everyone involved took wonderful care of us.  We were always well fed and well hydrated and everyone attended promptly to any issues that came up. – Lauren R.

Karanga Camp on Mount Kilimanjaro

We had a wonderful time in Tanzania from start to finish. The trek was awesome and so was the safari. Hard to say what we enjoyed most!  Our family really loved both parts of the trip even though they were so different.

Your guides there are fantastic – they really made the trip for us. Our 3 guides, waiters, and porters always had smiles for us and nothing but positive, encouraging words each day – I truly cannot say enough good things about those men.

Our safari guides were great too. We managed to see all of the “Big Five”; we spent nearly an hour watching the elusive leopard as she made her way through the grass and trees looking for a meal – the kids thought it was great.

The food on the mountain and on safari was fabulous.  In fact my kids asked why my food at home didn’t taste that good! I think we ate them out of house and home on safari; teenagers can eat a lot.

This hike was an exceptional experience for our family.  We learned a lot about ourselves, each other and Tanzania. I am not sure we are ready to head back up the mountain yet, but I am quite certain another trip to Tanzania will be in our future – there are lots of places left to see and experience!

My grandson, Jacob, and I had a wonderful experience and I am sure its something we will always remember.

Your Kilimanjaro staff was just great and looked after us at all times, the porters & guides made the trek a success. Our safari was just as wonderful, Jacob especially enjoyed the balloon safari.

Our holiday just wasn’t long enough. We hope to come back someday. Thanks again for all your help while we were preparing for our journey.

The trip is one we will absolutely not forget. It was fantastic in every way. We can only say great things about all the people that touched us on behalf of Thomson Safaris.

As the trip progressed, I became more and more aware of the logistics involved with moving a family throughout Tanzania.  I can honestly say that the Thomson Safari staff pulled it off without a hitch, they were available at every point, every transition was smooth and we were able to completely enjoy the experience without worrying about all the travel details.

As we spoke to people traveling with other travel companies, it became apparent that Thomson provides a superior service. Our guides, accommodations and our meals were far superior.

The man on the left was the one who recommended we book with Thomson since he had gone on safari with Thomson in the past and spoke about the outfitter with the utmost admiration.

I’m sad to leave because I feel like our group has been a family and we’ve grown so close to the guides and porters.  But I also am leaving feeling so accomplished and exceeding every expectation that I had dreamed.  After speaking with others who chose different outfitters, I am confident that Thomson is the best.

Taking the extra days to acclimate made us feel SO well-prepared that summiting was actually enjoyable…when I saw climbers from other companies really struggling, I realized just how hard it could be and how significant the difference was with Thomson. They did a great job!

I just wanted to thank Thomson for a vacation I will never forget! It was breathtaking, well organized, ran like clockwork and absolutely the best vacation I have or probably are ever likely to take again!

Our crew on the mountain, lead by Godlove, was outstanding and we owe our success to them. So from everyone in my family…a huge thank you!

It was a trip of a lifetime, and I can’t tell you how frequently my mind goes back to those days on the mountain. The people we were with, our guides, our porters, and all the work done behind the scenes made this the best vacation I’ve ever been on.  Additionally, I went with my step-father, and the bond I built with him during the hike is priceless.  The same goes for the other six climbers with us… all of us are still in touch, sharing photos, laughing over memories, etc.

The best parts of the trip: Our guides, Kapange and Earnest, were AMAZING. Earnest’s positive spirit was too dear, and I felt that he was always looking over us.  Kapange was an outstanding head guide, and I felt totally safe and happy with him at the head.  My porter, Nico, is the reason I made it to the top.

The lodging was AMAZING, especially Gibbs Farm and the Arusha Coffee Lodge.  I wish I could go back to either spot right now!  They were totally appreciated after days on the mountain.

I would recommend Thomson to anyone, and I’m proud to be associated with the group.

We had a great trip which exceeded our expectations on all counts. It was the best planned trip we’ve ever been on and the guides showed an amazing knowledge and wonderful attitude at all times.

Similarly all the support staff were extraordinary and truly focused on making the trip the best for us all. Above all, they were attentive to how we were feeling and the head guide was keen on safety of the group. It truly was a trip of a lifetime.
