“This trip was the best money I have ever spent!! I can’t say enough about the excellent guides and porters that worked with us on our trip. Andrew, Francis, Simon, Glory and Dixon deserve special mention for their hard work and excellence in everything they did.” - Colleen Flatten
“Thanks so much!! We had a grand adventure and really appreciated how wonderfully Thomson took care of us. Our head guide Andrew was truly outstanding and his expert judgement and critical thinking made us all feel safe. I have worked in health care for over 30 years and the challenges of the mountain really do require experts like Andrew, Simon, Frances and Glory to make it a safe trip. The challenges of the group with all that impacts the function of the body made it fascinating–but made us really respect the expert opinions of your well trained staff. Thanks!!” - Mary Dudley
” I can not tell you how much I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the Kilimanjaro adventure!!!! Thomson and staff are the BEST!! Our guides were over the edge superb!!!!!” - Annie Beinborn

Thomson Safaris was absolutely wonderful. It’s a known fact that I would not have made it without Simon! He was the sweetest and most helpful person and stayed with me every step until I made it up all 19,341 feet!
I did a Ngorongoro Crater safari extension, which was absolutely amazing! I would like to go back at some point and do a much longer safari and make it to the Serengeti.
The whole trip was incredible and I don’t think it would have been as amazing with just any company. You guys were great to deal with and so helpful. Now I just need someone to bankroll my lifestyle so I can do more traveling… worth every penny!

What a team. Consummate professionals. I did extensive research and I was not let down. I liked the 9-day option and the day light summit attempt.
Thomson has excellent credibility and reputation among the industry. I came across some other outfits on the mountain that I thanked the Lord I was not climbing with. No question I would tell anyone looking for the right trekking company, you are the only way to go.
If you want to climb Kilimanjaro and enjoy doing it, call Thomson. I booked the trip after extensive internet research and went through your website. Why anyone would book the trek based on a cheaper price astounds me.

I’m very happy to have chosen Thomson Safaris for my Kilimanjaro trek. The extended Thomson team was exemplary. I’m very happy that I spent the extra money and went with the best provider available – choosing a cheaper operator would have meant failing on the climb. I researched many tour groups and options for climbing Kilimanjaro and decided that Thomson offered the best chance for success, even though the cost was significantly higher than the low budget tours. In retrospect, I realize that I would never have made it to the top with another group. I definitely made the right choice!
Thank you Thomson for the trip of a lifetime! You guys are great, and well-worth the extra investment. Everything on the trek was A++++. Food, water, porters, guides – everything.

OK, you guys have totally spoiled me! Safari in 2009, Kilimanjaro in 2011 – you are now my gold standard for adventure travel. I just got back from 3 weeks in Patagonia (Argentina & Chile), it just wasn’t the same (camps, food, client service). I had to stop comparing this adventure to my previous trips with Thomson or drive myself crazy.
Thanks for doing things right!

It was a totally amazing experience! Thanks for the help in coordinating and providing us with all the trip details and guidance. We feel so fortunate to have had this experience and know that we got our money’s worth by choosing Thomson.
Talking with the staff and learning a little Swahili was a real trip highlight. I was blown away by the kindness and diligence exhibited by each of the guides, waiters, and porters on our journey to the top of the mountain. Besides a safe summit, it was obvious during the hike that customer service is Thomson’s number one goal.
At first we were all surprised by the amount of support crew (38) traveling for just our group of eight climbers. Then, after seeing just how much went into setting up camp and getting us to each site, it was obvious that this was an immensely coordinated production. With that much support and comfort there was no question that we were getting to the top!
It was a real surprise to see so much wildlife at Ndarakwai Camp [before the trek]. What they’ve done and are currently doing there is awesome. We were especially impressed with our walking guide who wouldn’t give up until we had seen some elephants up close.
We had such an amazing vacation and feel so satisfied to have made it to the top! Thanks so much again for your help and for the great experience that Tanzania and Thomson provided!
