Our trip was awesome! Our main guide, Godlove was great. He was a great leader and even better, got us to summit. The food, tents and other equipment were great.
The porters and other staff were friendly and eager to help. The final hotel stay before flying home was MUCH needed. A room to relax, shower, and pack was priceless. Thomson Safaris is a well organized company. Everything from air, hotel, and camping was excellent.
Everyone in the group made it to the summit of Kilimanjaro!

Our safari in Tanzania was certainly the trip of a lifetime, greatly enhanced by the experience and enthusiasm of all of you at Thomson Safaris, both here and in Tanzania. We continue to WOW our friends and relatives with our stories and pictures. We treasure the time spent together amid stunning vistas and wildlife, learning about other cultures and ways of life, and being part of such a great group of safari enthusiasts!
We saw a spectacular array of animals, birds, flowers, trees, and landscape scenery. We experienced some local culture and people. We drove right into the sight of the great migration of wildebeest and zebra. The plain was closely dotted with animals as far as the eye could see!!!

Our guides, Abraham (Abuu), Mustafa, and Patrick were outstanding. The 13 of us were a great group and have already shared e-mails and some pictures. Everything went very smoothly, and there were several fun surprises, such as our birthday cake on the second night!
Thomson Safaris is a wonderful company. We were very pleased that we chose to do business with you!

What a time! Enough can’t be said about those guides, porters, cooks, and waiters. They were the kindest, most supportive people I have ever had the pleasure to meet and spend time with. William and Renatus headed the team with such skill and utter devotion, while everyone else followed their positive, upbeat examples. They were the happiest, most caring people I have ever met. And they were watchful of and attentive to our every need every moment.
Enough cannot be said about that devoted and professional Thomson Safaris team. It must make you proud and confident to promote your trips, knowing that your front line will not and do not let you down–that they uphold and live the mission you put forth.

I was very nervous about traveling alone for this trip. I researched many companies and every time, Thomson Safaris came out as the best.
On my first call I explained my apprehension, and Katie pointed out “This will be the first time in your life where you will not have to worry about anyone but yourself. If you were traveling with a friend or your husband and they didn’t summit, you might feel guilty, but going alone, you’ll only have to focus on you – with medically trained guides, porters, and new friends cheering you on, friends you’ll most likely have for a life-time.” She was SO RIGHT!
It was such a great trip and I can only sing the highest praises for Thomson. I am so thrilled I joined this wonderful trip. It was such a great group and we had great guides and porters. So many many great memories and I now have new friends for life! Thanks so much for all your help in preparing. The BEST trip in the world!!

The Gildea Family trekked Kilimanjaro’s Umbwe Route with Thomson Safaris in January 2013. The family members recall what made this trip a special experience:
“We are all proud of one another for our accomplishments. All of the guides and porters were extremely supportive and very well skilled. I owe a great deal to my guide, Sunday, for his enormous positive support of me getting to the top! We had an unbelievable experience with Thomson! We will never stop talking about our trip of a lifetime or singing Thomson Safaris praises!” – Lois G.
“An awesome experience! I loved every day because there was always something challenging. The guides and porters were very nice and helped with anything and everything. It was awesome getting to know them. The summit day was the hardest physical and mental thing I’ve ever done and I am a collegiate rugby player.” - Robert G.
“This was an experience I will never forget. I am so happy to have had the staff we had because they became like family to us. There was trust and comfort with every guide and most porters that we became close with. I’m happy my family chose Thomson!” - Kathleen G.

I am very thankful that all the arrangements for my three different journeys in Tanzania worked out without a hitch!
On Kilimanjaro: I miss the team of porters, their cheerfulness, friendliness, and hard work. They always cheered me when I arrived at each camp, about half an hour or so after everyone, calling out “Jambo Bi Bi” (Bi Bi means grandma, an endearing term).
On Safari: All of the Nyumbas were luxurious and had bright lights. Gibbs Farm was totally unexpected – felt so relaxed in luxury after the Kilimanjaro trek and Tarangire drives. The Eastern Serengeti Nature Reserve was a most appropriate place to end the safari. So peaceful.
Zanzibar was a most appropriate place to end the safari. A therapeutic visit.
Thomson Safaris has done a great job.
